Gus and the Real Dog

OK, it really should be "Gus is a Real Dog," but there's no movie reference to that. But in the last couple of weeks, he's shot up and really does look like a real dog now.

He's always grown in spurts, and what's funny is that they have always been non-symmetrical spurts. We were walking him about two weeks ago and noticed his butt was taller than the rest - back legs got their spurt first. Kind of a goofy look, really. (Front legs caught up about three days later.)

Took the dogs to White Pines Lake yesterday, which Gus loved. Threw a ball into the water and after minor hesitation he was swimming after it. Inhaled some until he figured out to attack the ball from above when retrieving it, but had a great time. (Didn't take a camera because we didn't know how full our hands would be with beasts.) His fur had that curly look labs and other water dogs get when wet, so he's got some of that in his mongrel background.

Happy weekend everyone!

Did you have to drive to get to the lake and if so how did Gus do? Pictures next time of the water boy.
The security door looks really nice and the car is really cute. Have a good, hot weekend.

Koji had a bath today - that's about his limit when it comes to water. Glad you had a fun day with the dogs!

It would be great to see pics of Gus now. Sounds like he's bigger than just 1 month ago during our visit.

I just heard on the news that there was a bad accident at the carnival there. Hope everyone is okay.
