Dogs Is Funny

Gus went to the vet today to get fixed. (38.1 pounds...) He'll come home tomorrow, and if he's in a cone-head, I'm sure we'll post pictures.

I was in Stockton today for my first day, so Diane and Idgie had the house to themselves. Without the boys - especially Gus, of course - it was quieter around here.

So at one point this afternoon, Diane was in the kitchen cooking and Idgie carried in Hedgie and dropped him on the floor beside her. Diane said Idgie carried Hedgie like she was trying to avoid getting cooties, and kinda snuck away after she dropped him.

Idgie does not play with toys, period. So you have to wonder what she was saying. "I know you miss him, here's his toy?" "Where's that annoying little dog you brought home?" Some combination of the two?

Dogs is funny. I like 'em.

Dogs is definitely funny. Hope the little guy is feeling okay and doesn't have a conehead.

I bet Idgie missed him in spite of herself.

He had a cone-head, and will have it again, I'm sure. But I took it off because it blocked him from getting up the stairs, walking out his doggie dog and eating his food. It also stops him from licking his sutures, of course, which he is keen on doing. I follow him around spraying his hind end with Yuck.

Koji didn't lick his, luckily. So he's never had a cone. Leo had one a couple of times, and boy was that funny. He'd go up to pee on a tree and the edge of the cone would catch and he'd just stand there. He'd catch it on door frames, trying to turn a corner, and then he'd just stand there. He did a lot of just standing there when he had a cone.

Gus awoke this morning with no apparent pain, discomfort or perhaps even memory of his surgery.
