The best thing I can say about Cal's season-ending loss to Stanford in the big game Saturday is 1) Stanford's new stadium really is rather nice, and 2) We got free tickets.Wasn't much else positive to say. The Bears will play in the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth (we are not going), which is nice for them (maybe) and nice for Frankie and the band. So, go band!

That's a lousy way to end the season, but I hope the rest of your weekend was fun (even with no Top Dog).
Speaking of dogs, did Gus miss you?
Seems like everyone's season sorta went into the tank!
Gus was happy to see us, but Gina took good care of both dogs, so neither they nor the house was any worse for the wear.
We did have a nice time in SF the next day. Stayed at a Sheraton express-type hotel (just OK, but cheap) and hit both the SF Auto Show and Some Serious Shopping at Macys on Sunday.
Stay tuned for an post-auto show post (we have new ideas!), and as for Macys, suffice it to say that upon checkout (and the completion of my Christmas Shopping) the cashier had an amazed look on her face when she said "You did all this?"
Who says I can't shop!
