What are the odds of this Dave, DDID, pouring a very short strip of concrete, maybe 6-8 feet long, and then laying a short strip of brickwork (two bricks high) to finish a planter box that never got finished? I figure it's so small, who cares if I don't get it just right. I watched and helped my dad lays a ton 'o bricks when I was a kid. I was mostly the go-fer, and I kept the bricks and mortar moist!

Did Dave bring his puppy and are there paw prints in the cement?
That's Dangerous Dave. Friend Dave does not have a puppy, but yes, there are a few paw prints from some random neighbor dog. It's fitting.
